STCW Update – Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (U-FPFF)

This is a practical one day fire course involving use of breathing apparatus, hoses, nozzles and extinguishers. The student has to demonstrate they are able to maintain the required standard of competence in fire prevention and fire fighting.

Under the STCW 2010 Manila Amendments (STCW Section A-VI/1 & table A-VI/1-2), seafarers are required to complete the STCW Refresher (Update) Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting course (U-FPFF) every five years to maintain proficiency.
