Falmouth Training Solutions was formed in 2015 by Rob Thurston who, having successfully established and run Falmouth School of Sailing since 2005, identified the growing need for a reputable maritime training provider in Cornwall.
With decades of experience and deep-rooted expertise, Falmouth Training Solutions is able to constantly adapt to meet the ever-evolving demands of the maritime industry. Offering Marine and Coastguard Agency Courses alongside QualSafe recognised Workplace Training, Falmouth Training Solutions are now the leading provider of maritime and workplace training in Cornwall, delivering unparalleled training solutions right in the heart of Falmouth.

Falmouth School of Sailing
Falmouth School of Sailing (FSOS) was established in Falmouth in 1981 with Rob and the family running it since 2005. Initially we were offering dinghy and keelboat sailing, powerboat training, theory courses, but we have moved on to year round yachting courses, theory courses having expanded dramatically, plus custom own boat training.
Falmouth School of Sailing is an independent, fully recognised Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Training and Chartering School. It has a well-earned reputation for high standards across all courses, providing top quality tuition in a fun and enjoyable fashion.
Falmouth Powerboat School
Falmouth Powerboat School (FPS) was established in 2011 to work alongside Falmouth School of Sailing (FSOS) and later, Falmouth Training Solutions (FTS). Our powerboat school is an independent RYA recognised training centre running all Powerboat and Motorboat training from beginners to commercial skippers.
Offering friendly and approachable powerboat and motorboat training, each of our instructors have strong operational commercial experience which enhances the training they provide. Thanks to the mild Cornish winter, we are able to deliver courses throughout the year with a range of boats available to charter for our more experienced and qualified customers.
Falmouth Marine Solutions
Falmouth Marine Solutions (FMS) was established to provide high-quality services for a range of boating needs. Our wealth of experience in the maritime industry means we are able to cater for various requirements including yacht management, yacht maintenance and yacht delivery, from land or afloat. We offer several guardianship and maintenance packages too with customised options available to help keep you safe on the water and take the hassle out of boat ownership.
Falmouth Boat Charters
Falmouth Boat Charters (FBC) is our leisure operation with a range of boats available for charter right from the heart of Falmouth. Whether you’re looking for some time out on the water with the family or in need of a vessel to charter for filming or team building, we can arrange the right vessel for you. We can help you experience sailing holidays along the Cornish coast, voyages to the beautiful Isles of Scilly and anchorages in secluded coves. With the longest stretch of coastline in the UK, there is no better way to explore than from on the water.
