Basic Life Support for Adults and Children (Qualsafe – Level 2)
Our 3-hour Basic Life Support for Adults and Children training programme is designed to teach candidates a combination of basic emergency first aid techniques and resuscitation skills, learning how to try and restore breathing in someone who is showing no signs of life.
A Qualsafe Level 2 course, it is nationally recognised and meets the minimum training recommendations for an ‘Appointed Person’ in the workplace, as detailed in the HSE Approved Code of Practice L74.
Course Content
- Importance of self-protection and use of barriers;
- Chain of Survival;
- Primary Survey;
- Unconscious Casualties and Recovery Position;
- Adult CPR;
- Dealing with Choking;
- Basic Bleeding Control (optional);
Certification
Certification lasts for 3 years when the course needs to be taken again. The HSE recommend that all workplace first aiders receive annual refresher training in first aid techniques whilst holding this qualification.
