Administering Emergency Oxygen (Qualsafe – Level 3)

Course Content

• Use of oxygen, including:
  • Health and safety principles for use of oxygen
  • Benefits of oxygen administration
  • Indications and contra-indications for emergency oxygen
  • Dangers of compressed gas
• The use of emergency oxygen during CPR and AED usage
• Pre-operational inspections of emergency oxygen equipment
• Clinical need for the administration of emergency oxygen
• Oxygen delivery devices, including:
  • Non re-breather mask
  • Bag valve mask

Certification

Successful learners will receive a personalised Qualsafe Level 3 Award for Administering Emergency Oxygen (RQF) e-Certificate certificate. This qualification is valid for 1 year. The Learner needs to re-take the qualification and the assessments before the end of the 1 year to remain qualified.

Please kindly note, minimum numbers are required in order for this course to run. This course can also be tagged on to our First Aid at Work (Qualsafe – Level 3) at an additional fee of £45.00.

While achievement of this qualification confirms learners have met both the theoretical and practical requirements, this does not imply a ‘license to practice’ – the scope of practice will be determined by the organisation responsible for oxygen provision.

This qualification does not allow a learner to obtain, store or administer oxygen without clinical governance.
