Paediatric First Aid (Qualsafe – Level 3)

Course Content

• The ability to act safely and effectively when an accident or emergency occurs
• The treatment and priorities of care for an unconscious patient
• The recognition of cardiac arrest and delivery of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for infants, children and adults
• The ability to safely and promptly treat a patient who is bleeding
• Recognition of common childhood complaints and illnesses and appropriate care
• Developing an effective emergency plan for when emergencies occur
• The keeping of simple records following an accident in the workplace/care setting

Certification

On successful completion of the course, learners will receive the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) certificate. The certificate is valid for three years and must be revalidated through a refresher or full course before expiry to maintain compliance with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements. Although the qualification lasts three years, annual refresher training is strongly recommended to keep skills current and meet ongoing regulatory standards in childcare settings.
