Manual Handling

Manual handling is defined as ‘the use of the human body to move or support a load, such as by lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling or carrying’ and includes actions such as moving boxes, carrying people or animals, pushing or pulling pallet trucks or roll cages or using mechanical assistance to move, steady, or position a load. It can occur in numerous settings, both in the home as well as the workplace.
Our one-on-one, tutor-led, interactive e-learning course is aimed at anyone who uses manual handling techniques at work or employs people who may need to handle heavy objects as part of their work. Incorrect manual handling is one of the most common causes of injury at work and the nature of the load itself doesn’t matter. If you have to use your muscles, then its manual handling and, potentially at risk of injury.

Once you receive your log-in details, you can complete the course at any time to suit you. Each time you log in, you’ll be able to see the progress you have made and our e-learning portal will remember where you left off last time – so you can continue your training quickly and easily. You can also go over the learning content as often as required, giving you get the optimum learning experience to keep you and your business safe and compliant.

Our presenter Simon will guide you through all the knowledge and understanding you need in a series of videos followed by some multiple choice questions. You need to answer at least 70% of the questions correctly and you’ll have three attempts to complete each module.
